My Reading Slump in the Time of Corona

Like many others, I’ve been having a hard time reading this year. Trying to keep up with the news, being anxious about the state of the world, taking precautions like washing hands and obsessing over cleanliness in general leaves you physically and mentally drained.

Also, I just could not bring myself to read books and gush about them during a pandemic. It would be similar to Nero fiddling when Rome burned. Not that I have the power of an emperor to make a difference to the situation, but it still felt that way. Continue reading

Day 137 – Media Diet Roundup (PART 4)

70 days after the previous update on my 1000 days of media diet, here is a short story and poetry reading roundup. I posted updates on day 25, 48, 67 and now on 137. I’m unable to set a proper schedule for this because of the following reasons:

  • I’ve been spending most of my free time looking up the latest news on coronavirus.
  • I had been accepting ARCs from budding authors and tend to prioritize books from authors than any other books.
  • I’ve joined a handful of reading challenges this year and don’t want to leave them for the end of the year.
